Select Application Type
He has never dictated the need for the UI but he recognizes a great divide between what is shown in demo and what is currently in place in our solution.
The Good
From the quick demo I just received the dropdown is driving the options the user is eligible for which is the requirement.
What is lacking from the demo solution
The select application is a simple dropdown with only the application names that the user is eligible for. This has some lacking experiences from what is currently built which are.
- A description of the differences of member types
- Direct Comparison of Options
- Pricing of the options before you click
- A quick checklist of details you will need to fill in after you start.
This last item is what concerns JP the most because of how this impact's user experience and education before an application is kicked off.
Compounding the Problem
This solution has compounding problems because of how the application selection doesn't inform the user on what information they should collect before they start and the experience of saving and returning to the application.

- The Save and Return doesn't Resume an application but starts over with the user and in generates new records in the backend (Multiple attempted Pending applications)
- The Wizard Doesn't Navigate when returning to an application you can't use the wizard as a navigation to skip around. You need to multiple select the
nextbutton and even then you can't always bypassblockingquestions because the user selections don't seem to persist for the user.
These Save and Return Limitation really predicates the user to be as educated on the requirements of the application before they start because they will have to run through the application multiple times.
Absolutely, there are numerous ways to phrase this question to encourage engagement and make it easier for respondents. Here are three additional options:
Option 1 (Comparative Importance):
"Which types of content on a digital platform do you find most valuable? Please rank the following options from most valuable (1) to least valuable (5).
- Top-cited articles
- Videos
- Podcasts
- Digital Interactives
- Other resources (please specify)"
Option 2 (Preference Order):
"Everyone has a preference when it comes to content on digital platforms. What's yours? Please order the following types of content based on your personal preference, with 1 being your top preference.
- Top-cited articles
- Videos
- Podcasts
- Digital Interactives
- Other resources (please specify)"
Option 3 (Time Investment):
"If you had an hour to spend on a digital platform, how would you divide that time among the following types of content? This doesn't need to add up to exactly 60 minutes - we're just trying to understand what you'd prefer to spend more time with.
- Top-cited articles: ___ minutes
- Videos: ___ minutes
- Podcasts: ___ minutes
- Digital Interactives: ___ minutes
-
Other resources (please specify): ___ minutes"
